Through five distinct sectors — Food Security, Economic Development, Primary Health, Emergency Management and Education — we give families options for a better way of life.
To survive a disaster—a drought, a tsunami, or even a war—is one thing. To thrive afterward is another. Since ADRA prepares for the worst, it can help survivors quickly—and effectively— with food, water, shelter, clothes, and medical care when they need it most. Children are safe. Families remain together. Then, ADRA provides solid, visible solutions for the future and a dignified way out of hopelessness.
ADRA-UK provided immediate relief to thousands that survived the Asia tsunami. In Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and India survivors were provided food, water, clothing, mosquito nets, hygiene kits, and more. Once the situation stabilised, ADRA shifted its response to rehabilitating and rebuilding devastated communities. ADRA-UK continues to support communities and families to recover from this disaster.
In 2007 ADRA-UK provided emergency relief to the following countries:
Madagascar, Solomon Islands, Mozambique, Nepal, Sudan, China,
UK Flood Relief, Peru, Bangladesh, Uganda, Croatia, Nigeria and Moldova
