Each year thousands of volunteers collect for ADRA from door-to-door.
Funds raised through the 2012 ADRA-UK Appeal will also support these projects:
+ In Burkina Faso we will continued to help local communities adapt to changes in the climate and improve the use of natural resources.
+ In Rwanda ADRA-UK is helping to bring literacy to vulnerable adults in the Eastern province.
+ ADRA-UK is changing society to accept children with disabilities in Mongolia and given them access to specialised education and health services.
+ In Thailand ADRA-UK is helping to prevent Burmese refugees, mainly women, to be exploited.
+ In post-conflict Nepal life is difficult for many children. ADRA-UK is providing support through literacy, vocational training and counselling.
+ In Myanmar ADRA-UK’s project is establishing small- scale food processing businesses amongst vulnerable communities to reduce poverty.
+ In the UK ADRA-UK supports the work of a national organisation that assists people with special needs and their carers.
+ In Papua New Guinea ADRA-UK is supporting promotion of good governance systems to enhance poverty reduction and community development.
+ ADRA-UK responds to international disasters through the ADRA network.
In the period between the 31th of March and the 22th of April 2012, many thousands of volunteers will be collecting from door-to-door for the work of ADRA-UK. This will be the 99th year that volunteers will go door-knocking to help people in need.
During the ADRA Appeal period many other fundraising activites will taken place, from sponsored walks to benefit concerts to car washes.
In 2010 we raised £620,000 to aid the work of ADRA-UK through the ADRA Appeal.
Without these activities and the hard work of our volunteers, ADRA-UK would not be in a position to address the humanitarian issues of the world.
